Hello people! (:
I'm here to update you girls about the up-coming event, sec1 orientation.
It will be held on the 8th of jan 2010.
Everyone must help in this event.

Firstly, Yenyi will be the overall incharge.
If you can't make it that day, please inform her.

The layout for this event is that 4 tabletennis tables will be set up on the right hand side of the hall before the year 1s assemble in the hall. Do make sure that the girls are seated at the front while the boys are seated at the back. 2 chairs should eb set up as well for both coaches.

There will be 1 sparring partner, 1 recorder and 1 demonstrator at each tables.

Table A- Yunjie: Sparring partner, Faith: recorder, Xinyi(J): Demonstrator.
Table B- Debra: Sparring partner, Swee Theng: recorder, Lailin: Demonstrator.
Table C- Sinvyest: Sparring partner, Felicia: Recorder, Zhenyue: Demonstrator.
Table D- Jiayi(S): Sparring partner, Manting: Recorder, HanYing: Demonstrator.

Roles of the sparring partner: Just hit the ball to the sec1s students slowly.
Roles of recorder: Record those people who are selected by either Jiaolian or Mr kuan.
Roles of Demonstrator: Teach the sec1s students the proper way to hold the bat and show them how to hit the ball and stuffs.

Sparring partners, please remember to bring your bat, towels are optional.
Recorder, it is best to bring a clipboard and pen along on that day.

There will also be people under public relation, traffic control and sweet talk.
This are the following people: Jiayi(J), Shiyun, Mavis, Jinghui, Susan, Alyssa, Yenyi, Datina(IC), Wynette, Sixian, Vivian and all sec4s(2009) if they are coming back to help out.

These people as mention above have to try to sweet talk the sec1s students upon joining our CCA. These people must also relieve players playing or recording at the tabletennis player of they are going for toliet breaks.

The attire for the day is Tabletennis shirt.
The sec1s, please wear your PE shirt. Thanks. (:

Some of us will prepare cards and lollipops for those students that enter the next round of audition. These cards and lollipop will be given out by the recorder, so recorder please be alert at all times. Thanks.

Hello everyone!(:
i'm here to post the suggested packing list to facilitate you guys in packing your stuffs for camp:D

Suggested packing list:

Min. 3 training shirts
2 to 3 casual wear (with sleeves)
Min. 4 shorts (fbt allowed)
Sufficient undergarments
Min. 3 pairs of socks
Slippers/sandals
Toiletries- shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, bath towel etc.
Sleeping bag
Pen/Pencil (compulsory)
Torchlight
Table Tennis bat and shoes!
Medication (optional)
Insect repellent (optional)
Rags (compulsory)

This is the SUGGESTED packlist. so it's up to you guys to bring more and less.

Please report at 8am on Tuesday morning, 17th March 2009 outside the hall. Please be punctual and wear PE t-shirt.

Let's concentrate on Nationals and not dwell about any unpleasant stuffs during south zone.

Alrighty!(: I'm here to update you guys about the plan for sec one orientation next year. The sec one orientation would be held on the 7th of January, 2009. It would be from 8.30am to 10.30am. Regarding the matter of what time to leave your class, msg will be passed down at a later date since Mr Phua have yet to confirm with me.

There are 4 main roles for this orientation: Sparring partner, Recorder, Demonstrator as well as Public Relation. Each table will have a Sparring Partner, Recorder and a Demonstrator.

Sparring Partner:
Yun Jie- Table A
Cindy- Table B
Pei shan- Table C
Charis- Table D

Recorder:
Xinyi(J)- Table A
Si Xian- Table B
Zhen Yue- Table C
Lai Lin- Table D

Demonstrator:
Alyssa- Table A
Jiayi- Table B

Xinyi(S)- Table D

For Sparring Partner:
Obviously, you guys will have to spar with the sec ones. Hit the ball gently, make it less spinny as possible.
Things to bring: Bat, Table Tennis Shoes, Towel

For Recorder:
You guys will be given class lists. Jiao Lian and Mr Kuan will be choosing the sec ones for the second round of audition. Mark their names down for those who are selected. Besides that, you guys will be given cards and sweets as a token for the sec ones who are in for the second audition. Regarding this, further explanation would be given during the next training when school reopens. As a reminder for you guys, DO NOT take down their HP numbers.
Things to bring: Pen, Clipboard(if you guys do not have a clipboard, please inform me asap so that i can get it from Mr Phua)

For Demonstrator:
You guys will ask the sec ones to come up to the table for sparring one by one and teach those sec ones how to hold their bats(if they don't know).
Things to bring: none

For Public Relation:
During the sec one orientation, there would be roughly 2 to 3 classes coming to the hall for the sports trial. You guys will have to lead them to the tables and to line them up in twos, with girls in front, boys at the back. There would be roughly 3 to 4 of you assigned to each classes. Besides this, while the sec ones are sparring, you guys will walk down the row and help promote our team, get them interested in joining the team. Make them feel welcome, be friendly towards them.
Things to bring: Bats, Table Tennis Shoes, Towel (Not all will need to bring. Those who need to bring will be informed at a later date)

There will be a special assignment for Jing Hui. Further details will be given on 30th Dec during our friendly match with AC.

**If anyone of you need toilet breaks, people under Public Relation will take over your roles. Please make sure that i am informed.

That's about all regarding the sec one orientation. If there are any questions regarding your roles or anything else, you guys can come and ask me during our next training or ask me through msn or just simply leave me a msg. If you need my number, level heads will have it.

Hello guys! Sorry, I know this is quite last minute but thats the only way I can tell you guys what will be happening tomorrow.

The attire for the Year 2s is PE-shirt &shorts, as for Year 3s &above, Prasida jersey (:
Please bring along all the stuff that you usual need during training, such as bat, shoes, towel etc.

The time to leave your classes will be updated later! Because Mr Phua hasn't tell me yet.

Please look out for your roles below!

About 2 or 3 classes will come at a time.
All the girls will be the first to do the try-out, since we do not have boys' team already.
4 tables will be arranged at the right-hand side of the hall.
Each table will have 1 sparring partner (SP), 1 recorder (RC) & 1 demonstrator (DEMO)

Table A: Grace (SP), Sinvyest (RC), Charis (DEMO)
Table B: Simin (SP), Yun Jie (RC), Pei Shan (DEMO)
Table C: Jye Huey (SP), Wynette (RC), Cindy (DEMO)

They are: Yolanda (IC), Kai Hwee, Pan Hua, Jing Hui, Mavis, Jacquelyn &Cheryl.
Jacquelyn and Cheryl are the special case people. (See below for details)

Here are the ROLES! :D

Public relation/Sweet talkers/Crowd control.
- Make them feel welcome.
- Be friendly towards them, put on a smile at all times :D
- Make sure that allocation of the classes are correct (allocation of classes to be confirmed)
- Relieve sparring partners (if they are tired)

As for Jacquelyn and Cheryl,
- Both of you play a more important role than the others.
- You will be stationed aside, the area where the students are selected by us.
- You will have to give them a special card asking them to meet up for the 2nd audition.
- Talk to them nicely and encourage them to join table-tennis because we see potential in them and blah blah blah (:

Sparring Partners
- Your role is very simple, just spare with them.
- Hit the ball gently, make it less spinny as possible (:

Demonstrators
- Teach them how to hold the bat (if they don't know)
- Control the movement of the students (coaches will instruct)

Recorder
- Class lists will be given to you guys.
- Mark their names down for those we are selected.
- **Do not take down their HP numbers.
-Usher/show them the way to where Jacquelyn &Cheryl will be.

As for Lai Lin and Si Xian, they will be controlling the slide show of pictures at the stage (:

If any of you need to relieve yourself, the public relations will take over your role.
